Consultation
In developing the project, Portobello Community Inc. worked closely with the Dundein City Council Parks & Recreation staff.
The consultation process included:
- Display of the draft plans at:
- Latham Park
- The Community noticeboard at the Portobello Shop
- The Portobello Playcentre
- Kidzone Early Childhood Education Centre
- Distribution of a community newsletter outlining the project to all households in Portobello
- Inclusion of information about the project in the Portobello School newsletter distributed to all parents / guardians of pupils
- A public meeting to discuss the proposal
- Gathering of written and verbal comments from around 20 parents and children in the community
This consultation process demonstrated that there is very strong community support and enthusiasm for the project.
